Trinity Fessler went 1-for-1 with a double and a walk while sophomore 
Alison Donaugh hit 1-for-2 with a double as Detroit Mercy fell 8-0 at Tennessee State on Wednesday afternoon at Tiger Field. Sophomore 
Jenna Holt also posted a hit for the fourth consecutive game.
Recap:
• Holt led off the game with a hit but was caught stealing second. Fessler then drew a walk but was left stranded.
• Tennessee State's leadoff batter reached on an error which proved to be costly for UDM (0-11). After moving over to second on a sacrifice bunt, junior 
Jordan Kavanaugh got a batter to pop out which should have ended the inning. The Tigers then drew a bases-loaded walk followed by a three-run double to take an early lead with four unearned runs.
• Donaugh doubled to center field to lead off the second inning but was also left stranded as the Titans were retired in order after the hit.
• The Tigers added another unearned run in the frame to lead 5-0.
• Fessler connected on a double with two outs in the top of the third but was not able to get home.
• Tenn. St. added a pair of runs in the fourth for a 7-0 lead and another in the fifth to end the game.
Detroit Mercy opens play at the UNA Tournament with a doubleheader at host North Alabama on Thursday, Mar. 7 at 4 pm and 6 pm ET.
