DETROIT (4/11/2024) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team will have one more tournament left in the regular season as the Titans take part in the Wright State Invitational.
The two-day, 54-hole tournament will start with two rounds on Sunday, April 14, and conclude on Monday at the par 71, 7,075-yard Heatherwoode Golf Club in Springboro, Ohio.
The field will include host Wright State, Bellarmine, Cleveland State, Eastern Illinois, Glenview State, Green Bay, NKU, Ohio Dominican, Southern Indiana and Xavier.
Both days will feature a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
The Titans have played in the event the last three years, claiming 10th registering a 939 (311-317-311) last season, 13th with a 648 (329-319) at the weather-shortened tournament in 2022, and 16th with a 935 score (304-313-318) in 2021.
Last week, UDM took third at NKU's The Jewell with its second-best team score of the season of 872 (292-284-295). The second-round score of 284 was the best since 2019, as senior
Alek Mauro led three Titans to top-30 finishes.
Mauro leads the team with a 73.2 average, while freshmen
Gowtham Nalluri (75.45),
Mason Sokolowski (75.50) and
David Swab (75.57) are all within a few strokes for second on the team.
