Jada Davis hit a pair of home runs with three RBI while a day after securing her first career collegiate hit, redshirt freshman
Molly Upton connected on her first career home run with a three-run shot as Detroit Mercy battled but came up short 3-2 in the first leg of a #HLSB doubleheader series to Purdue Fort Wayne and fell 13-5 in the nightcap on Saturday at Buysse Ballpark.

Jordan Kavanagh tossed her seventh complete game with three strikeouts in 7.0 innings of work in game one. She also went 3-for-5 on the day at the plate.

Game 1 Recap:
• Detroit Mercy took a 1-0 lead as Holt scored on a wild pitch in the first inning.
• Kavanagh held PFW scoreless for five innings.
• The Dons finally broke through with a three-run home run in the top of the sixth inning.
• Davis hit a solo shot in the bottom of the sixth pulling the Titans within a run at 3-2.
• Borg hit a single in the bottom of the seventh but was thrown out on a fielder's choice during the next at-bat by Schick as the Titans couldn't plate the game-tying run.
Game 2 Recap:
• The second game had seven total home runs with five from PFW and two by Detroit Mercy.
• After the Dons took a 1-0 lead with a solo shot in the first, Davis belted a two-run homer for her second long ball of the day, moving UDM ahead 2-1 in the bottom half.
• PFW posted six runs (five unearned) highlighted by a solo homer and a two-run shot in the second inning to take a 7-2 lead.
• In the fourth inning with a 1-1 count on sophomore

Dan Vitale elected to pinch-hit Upton who then crushed a three-run shot to right field pulling the Titans within two runs at 7-5.
• PFW added two more runs with a pair of RBI singles in the fifth inning to move ahead 9-5.
• UDM had a chance to respond by loading the bases in the bottom half off singles from Kavanagh and Lara and a walk from Hoff. However, the Titans left all three runners stranded.
• The Dons then added four more runs in the top of the sixth to put the game out of reach.
Detroit Mercy will play a makeup doubleheader against Robert Morris on Monday, April 22 at 12 pm and 2 pm.
