SAGINAW, MICH. (1/17/2025) -- Junior Joshua Otten recorded a new career low to earn first in the mile and a trip of Titans were runner-up in their respective events as the University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team wrapped up a successful meet at the SVSU Classic on Friday. 

Otten broke his PR by three seconds, winning the mile in 4:11.86.

Junior Jaden McKenzie took silver in the 400-meters in 49.66 and joined Otten and sophomores Mike Ferguson and Nicholas Johnson to register a time of 3:21.57 on the second-place 4x400-meter relay.

Senior Cody Bartlett tied for second in the high jump, clearing 1.95-meters, while freshman James Wallace shared runner-up honors in the 60m with a time of 6.87 seconds. 

UDM will stay local next week as the Titans travel to Ypsilanti on Saturday, Jan. 25, for Eastern Michigan's Bob Parks Memorial.
