WESTLAKE, Ohio (10/6/2025) -- Junior
Mason Sokolowski broke out with a couple of big rounds as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team played the first 36 holes of Cleveland State's Tom Tontimonia Invitational on Monday.
Sokolowski carded a 145 (72-73), five shots outside the top 10, at the par-71, 6,811-yard Lakewood Country Club in Westlake, Ohio. He started off knocking in two birdies and 13 pars for a season-best 1-over 72 and came back with a 2-over 73, tallying three birdies and 10 pars.

David Swab and freshman
Peyton Lawley share 34th with a 147. Swab (77-70) had the best round of the day, posting a 1-under 70 in the afternoon on the strength of three birdies and 13 pars.Â
Meanwhile, Lawley (74-73) was consistent with a 3-over 74 in the first round and 2-over 73 in the second, finishing with five birdies and 21 pars overall.Â
Through two rounds, UDM is 10th with a 588 (296-292).Â
The final round of the event is set to begin at 9:00 a.m tomorrow.Â
