Men's Track & Field Concludes Horizon League Tune-Up At Michigan

Graduate senior Simon Jones was third in the long jump.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (2/21/2025) -- A couple of Titans won silver and bronze and a few personal records were set as the University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team wrapped up its final event of the regular season in Michigan's Silverston Invitational on Friday.

Senior Cody Bartlett took second in the triple jump in 12.87 meters, while sophomore Joshua Neary was runner-up in the long jump at 6.17m.

Freshman Brady McGee placed third in the shot put with a season-best 13.55m, while graduate senior Simon Jones ended third in the long jump at 6.05m

Junior Joshua Otten tallied an indoor PR of 1:56.79 for eighth in the 800m, while senior Ashwin Philip finished 10th in a career-best 1:58.71.

In sprints, junior Jaden McKenzie ran 22.18 for eighth in the 200m, ahead of freshman James Wallace's 10th-place effort in 22.23.

Next up for the Titans will be the Horizon League Championships, set for March 1-2 at Purdue Fort Wayne.
