HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. (4/19/2025) -- Junior Taylor Kondel and sophomore Gabriella Tapp are both inside the top 10 as the University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team started the Horizon League Championship on Saturday.

After the first round, the Titans are seventh with a 332 at the par 73, 6,022-yard El Campeon course at the Mission Inn Resort. UDM is just five shots outside the top three. 

Tapp and Kondel shot an 80 and are just four strokes out of first. Tapp had 10 pars and a birdie in the morning, while Kondell tallied 12 pars.

Freshman Emma McKinley is tied for 26th with an 85 as she posted eight pars and a birdie, and junior Sydnie Redovich is in 30th with an 87.
