Savannah Schultz picked up her second win of the season, tossing a complete game, allowing only three hits and a run with three strikeouts, and also had an RBI groundout to lead Detroit Mercy to a 5-1 win over Texas A&M Corpus Christi following a 13-6 setback to Abilene Christian to open action at the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic on Friday. Junior
Jada Davis was on fire at the plate, hitting a combined 4-for-7 with three doubles, three RBI, and four runs scored.
Senior
Trinity Fessler also posted four total hits, going 2-for-2 with an RBI double against ACU and 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of runs against Texas A&M CC. Sophomore
Abby Klaft went 3-for-3 with two RBI against the Islanders and 1-for-2 vs the Wildcats. Sophomore
Wendy Ketola went 2-for-3 while
Aubrey Myer added an RBI single against ACU.

Claire Borg also recorded one of UDM's (3-8) 11 hits against ACU. Schlachter also added an RBI single with a run, with freshman
Addison Pokley going 1-for-1 with two walks against the Islanders.
Texas A&M Corpus Recap:
• Schlachter got UDM on the board with an RBI single, scoring Fessler in the third inning. Klaft followed with an RBI single to score Fessler, followed by Schultz's RBI groundout, giving the Titans a 3-0 lead.
• Texas A&M CC broke through with a run on a groundout in the sixth inning.
• Fessler added an RBI single to score Hallman, and Klaft plated Davis on a pop-up, giving UDM a 5-1 lead in the top of the seventh.
• Schultz closed the door with a 1-2-3 inning for the win, snapping the Titans' four-game skid.
Abilene Christian Recap:
• ACU got the board first with a two-run homer in the first inning.
• UDM tied the game with a pair of RBI doubles from Davis and Fessler
• The Wildcats then added five unearned runs to move ahead 7-2
• Ketola scored on a passed ball in the bottom half of the second to trail 7-3.
• After ACU added a pair of runs in the top of the fifth, Davis hit a two-run double, with Myer following with an RBI single, bringing the Titans closer at 9-6.
• However, that would be as close as the Titans would get, as they couldn't get on the board in the final two innings, while the Wildcast added four more insurance runs in the seventh inning.
