Jenna Higgins drew the lone walk for Detroit Mercy, as the Titans fell 8-0 at Indiana on Friday evening at Andy Mohr Field.
Each player in the Titans' lineup had two at-bats, but they were unable to connect against IU pitcher Aubree Hooks, who completed the no-hitter in 6.0 innings of work.
Recap:
• The Hoosiers got on the board first, off a fielder's choice in the second inning
• Higgins' walk came in the top of the fourth inning. She then reached second base on a wild pitch and advanced to third on a fly out, but was left stranded.
• IU added four runs off five hits and an error in the bottom of the fourth to take a 5-0 lead.
• Indiana moved ahead 7-0 with two more runs in the bottom of the fifth off an RBI double and a wild pitch.
• The Hoosiers added an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to seal the game.
The Titans play game two at Indiana on Saturday, March 28, at 2 p.m.
