DETROIT (4-11-26) - After Detroit Mercy fell 5-0 in the first game, freshman
Savannah Schultz delivered a dominating double-duty performance in the nightcap, tossing her first complete game shutout of the season with seven strikeouts. She also hit 2-for-2, connecting on her fifth home run of the season, followed by a sacrifice fly, accounting for both runs in the Titans' 2-0 win to secure the #HLSB series win over Green Bay on Saturday afternoon at Buysse Ballpark.

Madeline Hallman went 1-for-2, while junior
Jada Davis, junior
Liv Peterson, and junior
Claire Borg each hit 1-for-3 to round out Detroit Mercy's (13-22, 5-4 HL) five total hits.
Davis and Borg accounted for the only two hits in game one. Sophomore
Erin Flynn had a solid outing, going the distance with five strikeouts. Her only mistake came in the sixth inning, surrendering a grand slam home run after two walks and a hit batter to load the bases.
Game 2 Recap:
Schultz and the Titan defense kept 10 Green Bay (11-24, 5-7 HL) runners left on base.
• UDM left two runners on base in the first and third innings but was unable to scratch a run across the plate.
• After Schultz got out of a bases-loaded jam in the fourth, the Titans broke through with her solo homer for a 1-0 lead in the bottom half.
• Once again, GB responded, getting the bases loaded, but Scultz got out of the jam, leaving the bases juiced in the top of the fifth.
• Davis reached on an error in the bottom of the fifth inning, followed by a single from Peterson and a walk by senior
Trinity Fessler to load the bases. Schultz then came up clutch again, adding a sac fly to plate Davis for a 2-0 lead.
• The Phoenix got runners on first and second in the sixth, but Schultz left them stranded and retired the side in order in the seventh inning to close the door, aided by a diving catch from Peterson.
Game 1 Recap:
• The game was a scoreless pitcher's duel over the first five innings.
• Green Bay took a 4-0 lead off the aforementioned grand slam home run in the sixth inning.
• The Phoenix added an RBI double in the top of the seventh for an insurance run.
The Titans welcome Rochester Christian for a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday, April 17, beginning at 3 p.m.
