Titan Women Register Six Wins, Pair Of Top 10 School Performances

Junior Alaina Burns is now eighth in the steeplechase in school history.

DETROIT (4/11/2026) -- Two Titans put their names among the best in school history, and six first-place finishes were recorded as the University of Detroit Mercy women's track and field team competed in two meets on Saturday.

Graduate senior Nina Pizzo registered the fourth-best 5,000-meter time in school history, crossing the finish line in 17:32.24 for 64th at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic. Also in Pennsylvania, junior Alaina Burns posted a time of 11:33.07 for 28th overall and eighth best in the school record book.

Sophomore Audrey Williams won her first collegiate individual event, taking the 200m in 26.62, while graduate senior Abby Winkle's 58.53 in the 400m beat out junior teammate Kayla Wize, who ran a 59.36.

Freshman Abigail Mullings won the triple jump with a leap of 11.02 meters and was third in the long jump at 5.10m, and freshman Nadia Hill once again claimed the high jump in 1.61m.

Sophomore Lyla Mullins kept up her winning ways, throwing the discus a career-best 39.94, ahead of junior teammate Grace Steffes' 34.21m. Mullins was also second in the shot put at 13.63m, and Steffes was third in the hammer, tossing it 39.56m.

UDM will stay local next week as it heads back to Oakland for the Elaine Leigh Invitational.
