Long Jump Unit Goes 1-2-3, Murray Collects Rookie 1,500 Meter Record In Day One At Oakland

Freshman Isaiah Fox became the seventh Titan to reach seven meters in the long jump.

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (4/17/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field program swept the top three spots in the triple jump and saw four performances make it in the top 10 in school history as the Titans opened the Elaine Leigh Invitational on Friday at Oakland.

Freshman Joey DeCasas won again, taking the long jump with a leap of 7.08 meters, while freshman Isaiah Fox became the seventh Titan to clear seven meters with his second-place effort of 7.04m.

Freshman Nickolas Henson was third in the long jump at 6.80m and was runner-up in the triple jump with a mark of 13.63m, ninth in school history. Sophomore Kyle Falls was right behind him in the triple jump, placing third in 13.63m.

Senior Joshua Otten earned silver in the 5,000m with a career time of 14:49.82, ninth in school history, while freshman Colin Murray garnered another school rookie record with his silver run of 3:53.78 in the 1,500m, fifth overall in Titan history.

Senior Anthony Yip posted a personal record in the hammer, finishing fourth in 43.48m, and graduate senior Luke Adamczyk was fourth in the javelin at 36.91m.

The rest of the events will be held tomorrow as the event will get underway at Noon.
