INDIANAPOLIS (4/8/2026) -- Off his near victory at NKU, University of Detroit Mercy men's golf graduate senior Bavake Sihota was tabbed the Horizon League Golfer of the Week.

He is the first men's golfer to claim the honor since James Hill '22 in March of 2022. 

Sihota shared third at NKU's Jewell Invitational with a 214 (70-70-74), a tournament that featured eight other HL schools. It was his second-straight top 10 effort. 

He tallied back-to-back 1-under 70's to start the event and almost forced a three-way playoff on the final hole. He ended up tied for second in the field with 37 pars, and was also tied for second on the par 4's with an even-par, 4.00 average.

Detroit Mercy will get back on the course next week at the Wright State Invitational, Apr. 12-13.
