Liv Peterson and sophomore
Wendy Ketola each connected on one of three home runs in the Titans' 12-7 series-opening win over Green Bay on Thursday afternoon at Buysse Ballpark.
Peterson finished 1-for-4 with two runs scored and has now hit a home run in three straight games and five total over her last five games. Freshman
Jenna Higgins also had three hits, going 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
Freshman
Savannah Schultz picked up her eighth win of the season with five strikeouts in 5.0 innings of work, while sophomore
Erin Flynn recorded her second career save, tossing 3.0 innings in relief. Schultz also hit 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
Junior
Claire Borg went 1-for-3, with a pair of RBI off a walk and a single, while freshman
Hannah Schlachter hit 1-for-2 with an RBI single.

• Green Bay (10-13, 4-6 HL) got on the board with a solo homer in the first inning.
• Detroit Mercy (12-21, 4-3 HL) took a 2-1 lead in the bottom half off Fessler's RBI single, followed by junior
Jada Davis stealing home.
• The Phoenix added an RBI single in the second inning and another solo homer in the third for a 3-2 advantage.
• UDM once again responded in the bottom half with RBI singles from Schalacter and Schultz, followed by Borg's bases-loaded walk to lead 5-3.
• GB took a 6-5 lead in the top of the fourth with a two-run single and an RBI single.
• The Titans then took the lead for good, hanging a crooked number five runs in the bottom half, starting with Fessler's three-run shot, followed by RBI singles from Borg and Higgins for a 10-6 advantage.
• Peterson and Higgins added their solo bombs in the fifth and sixth innings, respectively, to seal the deal.
Detroit Mercy and Green Bay close out the series with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 11, starting at 12 p.m. at Buysse Ballpark.
