Wisinski Halves Her Battle In Final Day Of Midwest Match Play Championship

Sophomore Ava Wisinski came back to knot her match on Tuesday.

JACKSON, Mich. (9/1/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team finished up its season opener at the Midwest Match Play Championship in Jackson, Michigan.

The Titans ended the two-day event with a loss to UIC at The Grande Club.

Sophomore Ava Wisinski was the only Titan to secure points as she halved her battle in a come-from-behind fashion. She was down two through 10 holes before squaring the bout at the 12th hole and would eventually settle for the tie.

Sophomore Morgan Jones fell 3 & 1 in a tough match that was all square through 13, while senior Gabriella Tapp and sophomore Sadie Kondell fell 3 & 2.

UDM will be back in action this weekend when it plays in Central Michigan's A-Ga-Ming Invitational from Sept. 6-7.
