Biography

2012-13: Went 4-19 with a 1-5 record in the Horizon League in Singles… Was .500 in doubles play, going 10-10 and 2-4 in conference…  Had 3 wins at first singles and one at second singles… Was 7-7 at first doubles and 3-2 at second doubles… Had a doubles win at first doubles against Toledo (1/20)… Won both singles and doubles against Grand Valley State (2/1)… Won back-to-back doubles matches against Wayne State (2/2) and Duquesne (3/1)… Defeated Bentley at 1st singles and first doubles (3/10)… Earned his first conference win with a singles win at UIC (4/6) in three sets and a doubles win at first doubles which started a streak of five-straight doubles wins… Earned another conference win against Valpo (4/7) at doubles… Defeated non-conference foes NIU (4/12), IUPUI (4/13) and IPFW (4/14) in three days… Ended the year with a singles win at first singles against Cleveland State in the HL Championships semi-final round (6-2, 6-3)... Member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
 
2011-12: Named to UDM Athletic Director's Honor Roll... Named to 2012 Horizon League Spring Academic Honor Roll.

2010-11: Came to UDM as a midseason transfer from Western Michigan after an overall 11-9 record in the fall season at WMU....Sat out the 2011 dual-match season to complete transfer requirements.

2009-10: At Western Michigan, compiled overall records of 15-6 in singles, 5-8 in doubles, and 20-14 overall as a freshman.

Career: He finished his career with 18 singles wins and 22 doubles wins, placing him 16th all-time in UDM history.

High School: Basha was a three-star prospect and the No. 4 ranked senior in Michigan by TennisRecruiting.net out of Port Huron Northern High School in 2008...Had a 32-6 record his senior year and was a finalist for the prestigious “Mr. Tennis” award given to a top Number One Senior Singles player in Michigan as awarded by the Michigan High School Tennis Coaches Association...Was named to the Division 1 All-State first team...Advanced to the Division 1 state finals in No. 1 singles each of his final three years making the semifinals as a senior, the quarterfinals as a junior and the round of 16 as a sophomore. He was also named the Port Huron Times Herald Player of the Year three times.

Personal: Son of Michael and Karen Basha...Has two younger sisters, Gabbi, and Franni... Father is a doctor and graduated from Otterbein, while mom, Karen, is a personal trainer and graduated from Michigan State... Major is philosophy.
