Biography

2014: Played in 12 of Detroit’s 14 games as a faceoff specialist… Was 29-of-77 (37.7%) on the year with 18 ground balls, 10th on the team… Had a great two-game stretch to end the regular season going 9-of-13 with five ground balls at Manhattan and 11-of-21 with a season-high seven GB’s at Monmouth… Took his only shot of the year against the Hawks in the regular season finale… He saw action in 51 career games and was 167-of-394 (42.4%) with 76 ground balls, a goal and an assist… Earned a spot on the UDM Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and the MAAC Academic Honor Roll. 

2013: Played in five games before suffering a season-ending injury… Started the year as Detroit’s top faceoff specialist and won 29-of-55 (.527)… Also collected 13 ground balls and attempted one shot… Posted a career-best 11-of-19 effort with a season-high five ground balls against Quinnipiac… Won 9-of-12 with four ground balls at Navy… Took 6-of-8 with a pair of GB’s at Robert Morris… A member of the University of Detroit Mercy Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

2012: Played in all 15 games as a faceoff specialist…Set a career high in wins and attempts, and was second on the squad winning 67-of-144…Really came on at the end of the year winning 30-of-50 in the last four games…Secured a career-best 30 ground balls, good for fifth on the team…Established a pair of high watermarks winning 10-of-15 with nine ground balls in the MAAC Championship semifinals versus Canisius…Was 7-of-14 at VMI, adding an assist for his only point on the season…Won 8-of-11 with three GB’s against Bellarmine…Posted seven wins in eight tries, while picking up five ground balls against Marist…Was 6-of-10 versus Michigan.

2011: Played in six games as a face-off specialist…Won 8-of-23 face-offs, picking up three ground balls on the year…Had his best game winning 4-of-5 in a 19-3 win over Mercer…Split four face-offs in the victory over Manhattan.

2010: One of the face-off specialist for Detroit, Corcoran appeared in 13 games winning 34-of-95 attempts (.358)…Scooped up 12 ground balls…Scored his lone goal off the season against Lehigh winning the face off and streaking down the field beating the goalie with a shot…Started the year setting his season best with seven victories against Bellarmine...Was 5-2 in the circle at Yale.

Prior to Detroit: Ended his prep career with 178 total points on 88 goals and 90 assists…Also won 76% of his face-offs…Earned All-State honors as a senior leading South Lyon to a regional finals appearance as well as a win over rival Novi HS, the first team in the conference to ever beat them…He was also tabbed All-Conference and All-Area three times…Garnered Most Dedicated Team award, twice, as well as the Best Junior accolade…Also played two years of club lacrosse for Team Total Select.

Personal: Son of Christy and Tim Corcoran…Has two sisters…His dad played Division I hockey at North Dakota…Earning his Master of Arts degree in Financial Economics.
