Biography

2016: A team captain… Started all 12 games on the year… Led the team with a career-high 19 goals and was second tallying a career-best 23 points… Also topped the team in shooting percentage (.279) and was third in shots on goal percentage (.618) and ground balls (24), all career highs… His six man-up goals were tied for the team high and sixth most in the MAAC… Posted a goal in 11 of 12 games, including six multi-goal outings and two hat tricks… Also had a point in 11 of 12 games with three points on five occasions… Started the year by tying his career mark with three points on a career-best three goals at #11/12 Ohio State, two with the man-up, and also corralling a career-high four ground balls… Put in three goals at Manhattan… Scored two goals and had four ground balls against Siena… Notched two goals and an assist at Monmouth and at Canisius, with four GB’s versus the Golden Griffins… Finished his career with a goal and a career-high two caused turnovers against Marist… A member of the Detroit Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and earned the Academic Excellence Award, given to Titan student-athletes who have achieved academic excellence during their time at Detroit recording at least a 3.0 GPA for every semester that they have participated in college athletics… A member of the MAAC Academic Honor Roll and the MAAC All-Academic Team… Ended his career with 43 points, 32 goals, 11 assists and 44 ground balls in 51 career games.

2015: Took part in 13 games with a pair of starts… Had three goals and two assists on the season for five points… Also picked up seven ground balls… Had two ground balls at Bellarmine… Tallied a goal and an assist against Mercer… Scored a goal versus Manhattan… Found the back of the net at Siena and handed out an assist on Sean Birney’s opening goal of the game against Canisius… A member of the Detroit Athletic Director’s Honor Roll… A member of the MAAC Academic Honor Roll... Also earned a spot on the MAAC All-Academic Team.

2014: Overcame a pesky ankle injury to play in 11 games on the year… Took just eight shots on the season, but give were on goal and two beat the goalie… Fired in a marker in his only shot against Michigan… Had two shots on goal with a marker at Manhattan, where he also had his only ground ball of the year… A member of the Detroit Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, the MAAC Academic Honor Roll and the MAAC All-Academic Team. 

2013: A fine freshman season that saw him selected to the MAAC All-Rookie Team… Played in all 15 games with 13 starts at midfield… Sixth on the team with 13 points and tied for sixth with eight goals and five assists… Took 36 shots with 22 on net for a .611 shots on goal percentage… Also had 12 ground balls and three caused turnovers… Had a caused turnover and two ground balls in his collegiate debut at Ohio State… Found the back of the net in his sixth game with a goal and an assist at Marist…Posted a season-high three points with two helpers and a marker in the victory over VMI… Extended his goal-scoring streak to four straight with one at Jacksonville and a season-best two versus Manhattan… Recorded a goal and an assist at Marquette and against Canisius… Fired one past the goalie in the MAAC Semifinals win over Marist… A member of the Detroit Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

Prior To Detroit: A three-year varsity letterwinner for Brother Rice... Helped the Warriors to three-straight state championships and a pair of Catholic League titles…Brother Rice was also Midwest champions in 2010 and runner-up in 2011 and claimed the North American Invitational Blue Division in 2011…In his first year of high school, helped the junior varsity squad to a Catholic League championship as he was named the team's Offensive Player of the Year…Played club with 1763…Also played hockey in high school, winning a junior varsity Catholic League title in 2010…A member of the Student Senate and the Kairos Student Director.

Personal: Son of Kathy and Jim Hebden…His older brother Jamie was a four-year member and former captain of the UDM lacrosse team, graduating in 2012… His dad played soccer at Purdue, while his uncle played lacrosse at Notre Dame, and his cousin, Ainsley, played lacrosse at Virginia…His grandfather graduated from the University of Detroit… Lists his biggest thrill in sports as winning a state championship…An Accounting major.
