Biography

2014: Appeared in 12 games as a defensive midfielder… Picked up his only ground ball of the season against Marist and had his only caused turnover at VMI… His only shot of the year came at Monmouth in the regular season finale… Earned a place on the University of Detroit Mercy Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the fourth-straight season as well as his third appearance on the MAAC Academic Honor Roll and the All-MAAC Academic Team. 

2013: Played in 14 games on the year… Had four caused turnovers and six ground balls and also attempted one shot… Posted a pair of caused turnovers at Jacksonville… Had a caused turnover and a ground ball in the win over Manhattan and versus Siena in the MAAC Championship… Scooped up a season-high three ground balls in the upset victory over top-seeded Marist in the MAAC Semifinals… Earned a spot on the UDM Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and the MAAC All-Academic Team and Honor Roll… A member of the winning Ethics Bowl team alongside teammate Thomas Sible.

2012: Played in 14 games before an injury kept him out of the MAAC Championship semifinals…Had six ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers…Recorded one shot on the year in the season opener at No. 19 Delaware…His six GB’s came in six games apiece…A member of the Detroit AD’s Honor Roll and the MAAC's Academic Honor Roll.

2011: A rookie who saw action in all 16 games…Recorded 14 ground balls and was 14-of-39 in face-offs…Did not record a point, while attempting four shots on the year – with three on net…Was 5-of-7 in the circle with a season-best four GB’s against Mercer…Won a season-high six face-offs with three ground balls in a 13-7 triumph over Manhattan…Caused his first turnover at No. 4 Maryland…A UDM Athletic Director’s Honor Roll recipient.

Prior To Detroit: Led the Yellow Jackets in scoring since his sophomore season and was a three-time All-State honoree, with the last two years selected to the first team...He was also tabbed All-Midwest three times, including the first team as a junior...A member of the Class Board for all four years in high school and was class president as a senior as well as co-president of the Chinese Club...Also played club lacrosse for Scorpion.

Personal: Son of Bridgette and Thomas MacLean …Has three siblings… His great grandfather, Andy Farkas was an All-American football player at Detroit and a member of the Titan Hall of Fame…Chose Detroit because of the high Level of competition in sports, its national recognition academically, and it’s in his hometown of Detroit where he hopes he can be a part of a positive change to the city …A Communications major.
