IPFW Fall Invitational Day One Results
The Detroit Titans women's tennis team stormed out of the gates winning 13 of 17 matches, including all 10 against Horizon League opponents, on the opening day of the IPFW Fall Invitational.
The Titans posted an 11-3 mark in singles play and a 2-1 tally in doubles. Seniors Zeljka Minic (Zagreb, Croatia/Sport), Kelly Davis (South Lyon, MI/North Farmington) and Aneta Maricevic (Hamilton, ONT/Glendale Secondary), along with sophomore Erin Weldon (Kalamazoo, MI/Mattawan), are all a perfect 2-0 through two rounds of singles play.
In doubles action, the UDM No. 1 team, composed of Minic and senior Annie Moore (St.Clair, MI/St.Clair), were victorious as was the No. 3 tandem of junior Svetlana Flankova (Riga, Latvia/Secondary 21) and freshman Sophie Sjoberg-Sundstrom (Gothenburg, Sweden/Katrinelunds Gymnasiet).
Day two of the tournament will start tomorrow at 9 a.m., at the Dr Rudy Kachmann Tennis Center in Fort Wayne, IN.
