Detroit Titans Fall Invitational Final Results


Titan senior Zeljka Minic (Zagreb, Croatia) got off to a strong start in fall singles play for UDM, taking top honors in the #2 singles flight as the women's tennis team wrapped up its home invitational on Sunday in Detroit.

Minic, who went a perfect 3-0 in her singles matches, joined newcomer Sophie Sjoberg-Sundstrom (Gothenburg, Sweden) as the Titans' two singles flight winners. Sjoberg-Sundstrom scored back-to-back wins on Saturday over her counterparts from IPFW and Cleveland State at the #5 position after falling to Oakland in her Titan debut on Friday evening.

Over the course of the event, Detroit managed a team mark of 13-8 in singles and 3-6 in doubles.

The netters return to action next weekend at the BGSU Fall Invitational slated for September 20-21 in Bowling Green, OH.
