Against UIC, the Titans stormed back from a 13-point second half deficit, 58-45, to put themselves in position for a win, but senior Tryl Hartfield could not connect on a 3-pointer with eight seconds with UDM trailing by just two, 63-61.
ABOUT LOYOLA
Loyola comes into the match-up at 11-9, 3-5 in the Horizon League. The Ramblers have alternated wins and losses in their last seven games, and are coming off a 68-47 setback at Wright State on Thursday.
Loyola did have an impressive non-conference victory earlier in the year with a 74-53 triumph over Georgia in the Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off.

DETROIT VS. LOYOLA
One of the oldest rivalries in Titans history continues when Detroit faces Loyola. The contest marks the 111th meeting, which began with a 31-13 Titan victory in 1922, between the two schools, the most against any opponent in UDM history. Loyola owns a 64-47 lead in the series and has won five of the last six games. The story is different in the Motor City, where Detroit has posted a 26-15 mark against Loyola, including winning 14 of the last 15 meetings in Calihan Hall.
JESUIT MATCH-UP
Today's game is part of the nationwide Jesuit Basketball Spotlight project, using Jesuit basketball to raise awareness of Jesuit education.
The Jesuit Basketball Spotlight project highlights more than 90 games this season between men's and women's teams from the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities across the United States. Each of the 28 is dedicated to strong academics and teaching women and men to serve others and live a faith that does justice.
The spotlight project includes awareness announcements during these designated games and during gamecasts on radio and television; and other awareness opportunities. Jesuit, Catholic colleges and universities in the United States have more than 200,000 students currently and more than 1.7 million living alumni.
The Jesuit educational mission began in Europe approximately 500 years ago.
