“I am never happy with a loss, but the team did a great job of battling out there against one of the best teams in the Horizon League,” said head coach

Patrick Troy (Beverly Hills, MI/Brother Rice) had the most exciting match of the night. After dropping the first set in No. 3 singles, 6-2, Troy fought off four match points in the second set before winning it in a tiebreaker 7-6 (3). He then won the affair in the third set 10-4.
“I think it's important for us to go out there and win every match possible to build some confidence,” said Troy. “I was not really thinking about the fact that, as a team, we lost. I just wanted to end the night on a positive note.”
Troy was also victorious at No. 3 doubles as he teamed with freshman
Nick Tolomei (Rochester Hills, MI/Adams) for an 8-7 (3) decision.
