The Titan women's tennis team ran its winning streak to six matches in a row as it easily dispatched Horizon League rival Wright State, 6-1, on Friday night at Franklin Athletic Club.
That pushed the team's record to 8-5 overall, and a perfect 2-0 in conference play. Wright State fell to 0-11 overall (0-2 HL).
The Titans led wire-to-wire as they won the all three doubles matches to pick up a 1-0 lead right out of the gate.
Then, the bottom of the lineup made quick work of the Raiders starting with Erin Weldon, whowent unblemished at No. 6 (6-0, 6-0) to get things rolling. Sophie Sjoberg-Sundstrom only dropped two games during her win at No. 5and Svetlana Flankova provided Detroit with an insurmountable lead after pushing the team's advantage to 4-0 with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4.
Annie Moore and Aneta Maricevic also posted singles triumphs at No. 1 and 3, respectively, to round out the Titan scoring.
Detroit is now idle until next Friday night when it travels to Youngstown State for a key Horizon League showdown.
