The Titan women's tennis team rebounded from Saturday's loss at Horizon League-leading UIC with shutout win over Valparaiso one day later.

The victory was Detroit's 13th dual match triumph of year and set a school record for most wins in a season. It leaves UDM with a 13-7 record for the year (6-2 HL) and a grip on third place in the final conference standings for 2009.

Detroit made its win over Valparaiso look easy. The Titans never lost more than three games in any of their three doubles matches to secure that key point, and won all six singles matches in straight sets. Zeljka Minic at No. 2 and Erin Weldon at No. 6 each went a sterling 6-0, 6-0 in their victories, while No. 3 Aneta Maricevic and No. 5 Sophie Sjoberg-Sundstrom weren't too far from a perfecto, each losing just one game before closing out their Valpo opponents.

The Titans will enter next weekend's HL tourney as the No. 3 seed when brackets are officially released on Monday.
