Box Score
Facing one of the toughest teams in the Midwest, the Titans took to the road on Saturday and, despite a win from freshman
Alex Latosinsky (Sarnia, ON/St. Christopher's), Detroit suffered a 6-1 setback to Ball State at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
The loss drops Detroit to 4-5 on the season and put an end to the red, white and blue's three-match win streak, while the Cardinals moved to 8-3.
Latosinsky garnered the lone victory with a 6-3, 6-2 score over BSU's Andres Monroy at No. 3 singles. He nearly came up with another win in the top position in doubles but he and senior
Pjotrs Necajevs (Riga, Latvia/Herdera Vidusskola) fell 8-6.
Necajevs and fellow senior
Patrick Troy (Beverly Hills, MI/Brother Rice) almost got the Titans two more wins, but were just not able to pull out the final set, losing in three.
Detroit will have a week off before hitting the road for a neutral contest as the Titans will meet IUPUI in East Lansing on Saturday. Match time is slated for 8:00 p.m.
