Senior Day & A Quest For First Place On Tap For Detroit

It has come down to the final two matches for the Detroit Titans women's tennis team as they will have a chance to win the Horizon League regular season title this weekend as UDM host Cleveland State and Youngstown State. Weather permitting, both matches will be held on the Titan Tennis Complex.

Detroit, who has already clinched a spot in next week's conference championships, will face the Vikings (14-11, 6-1 HL) on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., and the Penguins (6-11, 4-3 HL) on Sunday at 1:30 p.m., with both bouts following the men's tennis team against those respective schools.

Just one victory separates the top three teams in the Horizon League as Detroit can win the HL's regular season with a pair of wins and two losses by UIC, who plays Butler and Wright State. A win over CSU on Saturday would ensure that the red, white and blue would finish second in the standings, but two losses could drop UDM to as low as fifth in the league.

Before the match against YSU on Sunday, Detroit will honor senior Svetlana Flankova as the Titan netter winds down her great career that has her among the school leaders in singles wins and total victories.
