Britt Pronk (London, ON/St. Thomas Aquinas), UDM's All-Horizon League senior golfer, broke par for the second time in three days and vaulted into ninth place Saturday at the 106th Canadian Men's Amateur Championship.
Playing before his hometown fans at London Hunt and Country Club, Pronk countered two bogeys with three birdies during Saturday's third round to climb from 20th into the Top 10. He has a 70-74-71-215 tally in the books heading into the final day of competition.
Teammate Jeff Clarridge (Barrie, ON/Bear Creek), who began the tournament's third round in second place, got off to a tough bogey-double bogey start and had a hard time righting the ship. He fell back into a tie for 37th place (68-70-81-219) after three days of tough competition against amateur golf stars from Canada, New Zealand, France and the United States.
The RCGA will again provide live scoring on Sunday so you can follow the two Titans during the final round of the Championship.
