HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. (4/26/2026) -- A pair of Titans are within four shots of first, and only 12 shots separate UDM from the lead as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team ended the second day of the Horizon League Golf Championship on Saturday.
The Titans stand in sixth place with a 596 (295-301) at the par 72, 6,868-yard El Campeon course at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida. The red, white and blue trail Oakland and Purdue Fort Wayne by 12, Wright State by 11, Green Bay by eight, and Youngstown State by three heading into the final round.Â
Graduate senior
Bavake Sihota is tied for third with a 144 (71-73), and junior
Gowtham Nalluri is fifth with a 145 (74-71), trailing the leading score of 141 by Oakland's Rakshit Dahlya and Wright State's Shane Ochs.
Sihota posted a 1-over 73 as he registered four birdies and nine pars, including birdies on two of his final three holes to move just three shots off the lead.
Nalluri had a great start to the day, playing the back nine 3-under with three birdies and six pars. He then tapped in seven more pars on the front nine to vault into medalist contention.
Junior
Mason Sokolowski recovered from yesterday's slow start to tally a 2-over 74 and shares 37th with a 156 (82-74). He started his round with two birdies and four pars in his first six holes and finished with three birdies and 11 pars.
Round two of the event begins at 12:20 p.m. for the men, with the Titans teeing off beginning at 12:50 p.m.Â
Redshirt sophomore
Ethan Oblak sits in 45th place at 159 (76-83), and junior
David Swab is in 46th with a 160 (74-86).Â
The final round of the league meet will tee off at Noon tomorrow.Â
