HOWIE-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. (4/25/2026) -- Three Titans are in the top 20 - led by graduate senior Bavake Sihota - as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team opened up the Horizon League Championships on Saturday.

The Titans shot a 295, just 10 shots off the lead, at the par 72, 6,868-yard El Campeon course at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida.

Sihota led the way with a 1-under 71 and is tied for seventh place. He started the opening round with three birdies in his first seven holes and also knocked in 13 pars on the day.

Juniors David Swab and Gowtham Nalluri are both tied for 18th with a 2-over 74. Swab had 16 pars in his round, including 10 straight to close it out, while Nalluri knocked in four birdies and eight pars. 

Redshirt sophomore Ethan Oblak shot a 4-over 76 and is in 33rd, and junior Mason Sokolowski is 48th with an 82.

Round two of the event begins at 12:20 p.m. for the men, with the Titans teeing off beginning at 12:50 p.m.
