Men’s Tennis Ends Play At The Frank Beeman Invitational

Frank Beeman Invite Full Results

Three victories were tallied on Sunday as the UDM men's tennis team ended play at Michigan State's Frank Beeman Invitational.

“The weekend went real well,” said head coach Grant Asher. “It was a good opportunity to get to know the team and see our strengths and weaknesses. We have a young team and I was really happy with the play of the new guys, and we will look to improve on what we accomplished this weekend.”

The tournament had a few schedule changes in every bracket to adjust for the bad weather and to keep players from matching up against their own teammates.

Alex Latosinsky (Sarnia, ON/St. Christopher's) continued his strong effort with a win in the White Flight against Dayton's Drew Hanley. He defeated the Flyers' netter, 6-1, 6-4.

Newcomer Pablo Nunez (San Jose, Costa Rica/Educacion Abierta) picked up the other pair of wins downing a pair of players from Western Michigan in Zeyd Montasser (6-1, 4-6, 10-6) and Simon Blomberg.

Detroit will play in its second fall tournament of the season next week when the red, white and blue visit Bloomington, IN, for the Hoosier Invitational.
