Day One Summary
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The second day of the Men's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional Tournament in Columbus, OH took place on Friday. The day consisted of the third and final round of qualifying for the singles main draw and also marked the start of the doubles main draw.
Alex Latosinsky faced Will Davis of Michigan State in the final round of singles qualifiers but was unable to advance with a 6-4, 6-4 defeat.
In doubles, the Titan duo of
David Stabley and
Pablo Nunez took down a pairing from Wisconsin to advance to the second round. The two defeated Alexander Teppert and Petr Satral of the Big 10 school with an 8-4 score. Teppert and Satral were the No. 16 seed in the bracket of 64. Stabley and Nunez will move on to face Muddappa Appanervand and Willi Peter of Illinois State on Saturday.
Jay Joshi and
Nick Tolomei also advanced in doubles via a walkover and will face Ille Van Engelen and Devin McCarthy of Ohio State Saturday.
