YPSILANTI – The Detroit Titan women's track and field team was in action on Friday night.
Sequoyia Calhoun set the school record in the 500-meter dash as Detroit earned 64.5 points.
Eastern Michigan won the event with a team score of 123.5. Toledo placed second recording 83, while Detroit rounded out the triangular with 64.5 points.
Sequoyia Calhoun won the 500-meter dash on Friday night. Calhoun earned seven points for the Titans with a time of 1:14.51. Calhoun now owns the school record, lowering the time by two seconds.
Nicole Meisner was the top Titan in the 60-meter dash. Meisner crossed the finish line at 7.96. Other Titans impacting the race was
Nikia Duncan and
Brandee Hart. Duncan placed sixth overall with a time of 7.97, while Hart was close behind in seventh (8.12).
Hart also ran well in the 300-meter dash placing second in the race. The time of 42.21 moves Hart to fifth all-time on the Titan top 10 list. Meisner and
Jasmine Greene also recorded top-five finishes for Detroit. Meisner claimed fourth clocking in at 42.37, and Greene took fifth (42.77).
Four Titans competed in the 60-meter hurdles. Hart earned four points with a third place finish clocking in at 9.40. Greene,
Amanda Campbell, and freshman
Hana Hunt rounded out the effort placing fourth through sixth.
Allyson Koglin performed well for Detroit off the track. Koglin took third in the weight throw and the shot put. She recorded a distance of 14.24m in the weight, and 11.17m in the shot.
Susan Kalkstein ended Friday night with a third place finish in the triple jump. Her second jump was her best of the night (10.60m). Brianna Soule impacted the meet in the long jump. She placed fourth overall with a distance of 5.15m.
