DETROIT (2/26/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's track and field team will now put its best effort forward in pursuit of top finishes as the Titans compete in the Horizon League Indoor Championships this weekend.
The two-day championships will start on Saturday, Feb. 28, and conclude on Mar. 1, at the Watson and Tressel Training Site at Youngstown State.
Both days will begin at 9:00 a.m., with pentathlon and heptathlon events. Field events will get going at Noon on Saturday and 9:15 a.m., on Sunday, while running events are set for 3:00 p.m. on day one and 1:00 p.m. on day two.
Fans can watch most of the championships on ESPN+. There will also be a live results page.
Last season, UDM was 10th with 11 points at the indoor league meet.
The Titans currently have three student-athletes ranked in the top 10 in the Horizon League, and a few just outside.
Freshman
Nadia Hill leads the conference in the high jump at 1.75 meters, a school rookie record, and tied for 79th in Division I, while freshman
Imani Sharp is fifth in the 60-meter dash in 7.61, breaking a school record.
Sophomore
Lyla Mullins has also improved tremendously this year, setting a Titan record and ranking third in the shot put at 13.93m.
In its history, Detroit Mercy has won four team championships with the highest HL score in 1996, 1998, 1999, and 2002, while finishing runner-up in 1992, 2000, 2001, 2003, and 2014.
Individually, the red, white and blue have won 69 individual events and eight relays. Two Titans still hold Horizon League Championship records in Shireese Statin's 7.14 in the 60 meters in 2000, and Ruthie Cook's 2:12.30 in the 800m in 2002.
