MATCH RESULTS

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The men's tennis team opened the 2012 dual-match schedule at Western Michigan Thursday afternoon and the result was a 6-1 defeat at the hands of the Broncos.
 
The Titans dug a hole early dropping two of three doubles matches to go down by a 1-0 score before starting the singles match-ups. Junior Cesar Escobar Serrano (Merliot, El Salvador/Education) and freshman Jay Joshi (Rochester, MI/Adams) secured an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles for Detroit.
 
In singles play, junior Pablo Nunez (San Jose, Costa Rica/Educacion Abierta) was the lone Titan to post a victory winning in the No. 6 position over Marc Shideler 7-6 (7-2), 6-3.
 
Detroit's next match will come Sunday in Illinois against DePaul. The match is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
