MATCH RESULTS
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- The Titan men's tennis team captured its second straight victory scoring a 5-2 dual-match win over the IPFW Mastodons Sunday afternoon at the Franklin Athletic Club in Southfield.
After a 4-3 win over Duquesne Saturday evening, Detroit (2-3) was looking to continue its winning ways with IPFW (0-1) in town.
The doubles match-ups featured a split in the early going as the No. 2 Titan duo of senior
David Stabley and junior
Pablo Nunez played to an 8-6 win. A loss at No. 1 doubles brought the clinching point down to No. 3 doubles as freshman
Jay Joshi and junior
Chris Cheung battled it out. As the match went on, the crowd and teams cheered for each point but the Mastodons would prevail in the end with a 9-7 victory to take a 1-0 lead.
The Titans would dominate the singles portion of the night taking five out of six matches en route to the 5-2 victory.

Mike Basha and
Chris Cheung all secured straight set victories helping Detroit capture three early points as the team jumped out to a 3-2 lead with the No. 1 and 2 singles matches still undecided. Senior
Nick Tolomei was in the No. 2 spot and held on in the second-set tiebreaker for a 6-3, 7-6 (4) win to seal the deal for the Titans. Junior
Alex Latosinsky added another point to complete the team scoring finishing his match in three sets and a 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 defeat.
Detroit will play its next contest in the confines of the Franklin Athletic Club in Southfield as the team will host Xavier in a match on Jan. 28 at 7:00 p.m.
