MATCH RESULTS

TOLEDO, Ohio -- After a thrilling 6-1 home victory over Wayne State Thursday evening, the Titans (3-5) played a road contest in Toledo Friday afternoon and the Rockets (5-5) managed a 6-1 defeat over Detroit.
 
Playing in the No. 1 doubles position for the Titans, Mike Basha (Fort Gratiot, MI/Port Huron Northern) and Chris Cheung (Mississauga, ON/Erindale) came up with a 8-7 (7-5) victory in the second set tiebreaker. A pair of Detroit losses in the remaining doubles match-ups gave the Rockets the point and a 1-0 lead.
 
In singles, Toledo managed wins in five of six matches as Cesar Escobar Serrano (Merliot, El Salvador/Education) posted a 7-5, 6-1 straight set win in the No. 6 spot.
 
The match was the second in two days for Detroit as the team will play its third in three days Saturday with a road contest at No. 53 ranked Michigan State at 10:00 a.m.
