DETROIT -- The Detroit Titans (9-13, 3-3 Horizon League) closed out the home portion of the 2011-12 schedule by honoring its three seniors prior to Saturday afternoon's match at the Titan Tennis Complex on the campus of the University of Detroit Mercy. The Titans hosted IUPUI (10-14, 4-1 Summit) and fell 5-2.

The day was about seniors David Streeter, David Stabley and Nick Tolomei. Each of the seniors served as a co-captain for the 2011-12 season.

Streeter came to the Titans after graduating with a bachelor's degree from Michigan while Stabley and Tolomei were each four-year letter winners. Stabley and Tolomei were also part of the first four-year senior class to graduate since men's tennis was reinstated at Detroit in the 2008-09 season.

The two teams finished the match just before darkness settled. The contest featured a pair of singles wins from both Mike Basha and Pablo Nunez as they secured both points for Detroit on the day.

Nunez won his 12th in dual-match play taking a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles. Basha won his 9th in the spring season as he also won a straight set match, 6-2, 6-0.

The next action for Detroit will be the final dual-match of the regular season on a new date of April 20. The Titans will meet Green Bay halfway and play at Valparaiso in the last contest before the Horizon League Tournament begins on April 27-29 in Indianapolis.
