KALAMAZOO, Mich. (1/11/13) - The University of Detroit Mercy men's tennis team dropped its opening match of the 2013 dual-match campaign to Western Michigan by a final tally of 6-1 Friday afternoon.

Alex Latosinsky played in the No. 1 position for UDM and defeated his opponent in straight sets 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 coming away with the only victory for the Titans.

"Alex had a great win over a strong opponent," said UDM men's tennis head coach Grant Asher. "He's worked hard on his game and it's nice to see him come away with a big win."

UDM's next match-up will come Saturday as the Titans will travel to East Lansing to take on Michigan State at 6:00 p.m.
