EAST LANSING, Mich. (1/28/13) – The University of Detroit Mercy women's tennis team fell to undefeated Michigan State team, 7-0, Sunday evening at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility.
 
At third singles, newcomer Irina Slizovskaya dropped the first set, 6-3, but answered by taking the second set, 6-3, to extend the match to a third set. In the final set MSU's Nicole Herzog took the set, 11-8, to earn the point. At fourth singles Raina Halabi got off to a strong start taking the first set, 6-4, but she dropped the second set, 6-4, and the third set, 10-8.
 
The Spartans improved to a perfect 4-0 while the Titans fell to 0-2.
 
Detroit will continue its dual match season with a trip to Eastern Michigan this Friday (2/1) and will open its home schedule with a match against Oakland on Saturday (2/2) at 7:30 p.m. at the Franklin Athletic Club.
