DETROIT (1/5/13) -- University of Detroit Mercy women's tennis head coach Pjotrs Necajevs has added Irina Slizovskaya to the squad for the 2013 spring schedule.
 
Slizovskaya hails from Saransk, Russia where she played for the Mordovia club team. She was first racket from 2008 were she earned a junior ranking of 22nd in Russia and finished first in singles and doubles multiple times in the Saransk city tournaments.
 
“We are lucky to have Irina this spring,” said Necajevs. “She will be a great asset for our team to help us achieve our goals this year. She is a great athlete who is very quick on the court and a big forehand.”
 
The Titans will open the 2013 dual-match season when they travel to Xavier in Cincinnati, Ohio for a match on January 18.
