DETROIT (4/12/2013) -- Can they raise the bar even higher is the question for Detroit as the women's golf team will look for its eighth title of the season this weekend when the Titans make the short trip to Bowling Green, Ohio, to play in the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational.
The two-round event will have 18 holes on Saturday and 18 on Sunday at the Par 72, 5,960-yard Stone Ridge Golf Club. A shotgun start will begin both days with an 8:30 a.m., time for round one and a 9:00 a.m., tee time in round two.
UDM will have a full field to compete against in Ashland, host Bowling Green, Chicago State, Cleveland State, Ferris State, Findlay, Indianapolis, IPFW, Loyola, Niagara, Northern Illinois, Northwood, Oakland, and Ohio.
The Titans are coming off their seventh win of the season as they claimed first by six strokes in the Purple Eagles Invitational earlier in the week. All five UDM golfers were in the top 10 as juniors
Lindsey Lammers and
Christina Thorne shared third.
Detroit has now won seven times in just nine events, with one other runner-up finish on the year. Lammers still leads the team in scoring at an even 75.0, but Thorne has been right there all year with a 76.2 average.
This will be the final tournament of the year for UDM as the Titans will get ready for the Horizon League Championship, set for Apr. 26-28 at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
There will be no live scoring and results will be posted as soon as they are available.
