Titans Fall to UIC in HL Semifinals

INDIANAPOLIS (4/27/13) – The University of Detroit Mercy women's tennis team dropped its semifinal match to 16-time defending champion UIC, 4-1, on Saturday at the Horizon League Championships.

All-Horizon League second team honoree, Nino Sujashvili won her match at second singles in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2, and paired with Irina Slizovskaya to take the second doubles match, 8-3.

This was Detroit's seventh-consecutive trip to the Horizon League Semifinals, dating back to 2007.

The Titans finished the year with a 12-6 record overall and with a 5-2 mark in the Horizon League.
