Men’s Lacrosse Puts League High 26 On MAAC Academic Honor Roll

2013-14 MAAC Academic Honor Roll

EDISON, N.J. (7/15/2014) --
For the third-straight year, the University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team swept both academic categories as the Titans had 26 student athletes named to the 2013-14 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Academic Honor Roll, released by the conference office on Tuesday.
 
The Titans compete in the MAAC in men's lacrosse only and led the seven-team lacrosse league in selections with 26. Canisius had the second most at 18, while Manhattan had 16 and Monmouth 14.  Back in May, UDM topped the MAAC with 19 student athletes earning their way onto the MAAC All-Academic Team.
 
The 26 Titans who made the grade for the honor roll included: Brandon Beauregard, Kyle Beauregard, Mike Birney, Paul Bitetti, Ryan Callaghan, Tyler Corcoran, Damie Danseglio, Troy Dennis, Lucas Ducharme, Connor Flynn, Joe Gifford, Andy Hebden, Seth Horwat, Joe MacLean, Pat Masterson, Tom Masterson, Bryan Matney, Nick Melucci, Chris Perry, Drew Schupbach, Chris Shevins, Thomas Sible, Brian Smith, Mike Spuller, Adam Susalla and Alex Wilson.
 
A total of 1,968 student-athletes were honored for academic achievements by being named to the 2013-14 MAAC Academic Honor Roll.
 
To be eligible for the MAAC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The Honor Roll is open to both full-time and associate members in the MAAC. All 25 sports that the conference sponsors are represented.
