Anna Davydova came up with singles wins, but the University of Detroit Mercy women's tennis team saw its winning streak come to an end at Youngstown State on Sunday morning.
Youngstown State won the doubles point and four singles matches to improve to 10-8 overall and 3-0 in the Horizon League, while the Titans five-match win streak was stopped and they fell to 11-8, 3-1 in conference play.
Slizovskaya claimed third singles with a straight-set, 6-3, 6-3, victory over Annina Brendel. At No. 4, Davydova ran her personal winning streak up to eight in a row as she cruised past Nehel Sahni, 6-0, 6-2.
Detroit almost nabbed No. 2 and No. 4 as junior
Valeryia Kulikovskaya was ousted, 7-5, 6-4, while sophomore
Viktoria Laskutova dropped a 6-4, 7-5 decision.
The Titans will get back on the courts on Saturday, April 4, with a Detroit tennis doubleheader as both the men and women host Wright State. The time and location of the matches are still to be determined due to weather.
