DETROIT (4/13/2015) – The University of Detroit Mercy softball team will stay in the Motor City this week with non-conference games against Western Michigan (Tuesday, April 14), Toledo (Wednesday, April 15) and Buffalo (Thursday, April 16) before visiting Horizon League foe Wright State for a three game weekend series.
Tuesday and Thursday will be single games against Western Michigan and Buffalo with both contests starting at 4:00 p.m., while Wednesday will be a doubleheader against Toledo with the first pitch scheduled for 3:00 p.m.

LAST OUTINGOakland's Morgan Muron hit a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to lift the Golden Grizzlies past the University of Detroit Mercy softball team 7-5 on Sunday at Buysse Ballpark.
The Titans led 5-3 heading into the top of the fifth inning before the Golden Grizzlies used pair a of 2-run blasts to complete the weekend sweep and gain six points in the Metro Series.
Detroit (3-32, 0-9 HL) scored three runs in the first inning and added another in the third off
Christa McGahuey's team-leading eighth home run of the season to build a 4-0 lead.
Oakland (18-15, 9-2 HL) then scored three runs of its own in the top of the fourth inning, including Sarah Hartley's team-leading ninth long ball of the season to trim the Titans lead to one, 4-3.
Detroit then responded with a solo shot down the left field line from
Jennifer Cottle – her second of the season – to build a 5-3 lead, before former Titan
Sara Cupp hit 2-run homer to right center to tie the score at five after five innings.
ABOUT THE BRONCOSWestern Michigan (14-17, 6-2 MAC) trailed Northern Illinois 3-1 through five and a half innings, but rallied back to pull off a 5-4 victory Sunday. The win was the Broncos' sixth straight at home and sixth-straight in Mid-American Conference play. WMU also defeated Northern Illinois Saturday at Fran Ebert Field, 8-5.
Senior center fielder Jenny Rohn delivered the game-winning RBI for Western Michigan in the bottom of the seventh and sophomore Erin Binkowski hit a three-run home run in the sixth to help lead the Bronco comeback. Binkowski finished with four RBIs in the game, also driving in a run for the Broncos with a single up the middle in the fourth.
The game was tied 1-1 after four innings of play and the Huskies scored a run in the top of the fifth and sixth to pull ahead 3-1.

ABOUT THE ROCKETSThe Toledo softball team got revenge against Miami on Sunday afternoon, handing the Miami RedHawks a 3-0 loss at Scott Park one day after the Rockets were shut out themselves.
With the victory, the Rockets move to 15-24 on the year and 2-8 in conference action.
ALL-TIME SERIESThe Rockets and Titans have played 22 times previously, with the Rockets owning a 16-6 advantage in the all-time series.
ABOUT THE BULLSThe University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, softball team was shut out at Akron on Sunday afternoon, 9-0. The game lasted just five innings. UB was scheduled to play these games at home, but had to move to Akron due to unplayable field conditions. The loss dropped the Bulls to 7-28 overall and 0-8 in the MAC.
UB has now played 35 straight games away from Nan Harvey Field. It will host Canisius on Wednesday afternoon in a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 pm., before heading to the Motor City to face the Titans on Thursday.
