Women’s Tennis Falls at BGSU

PERRYSBURG, Ohio (2/17/17) – The University of Detroit Mercy women's tennis team suffered a 5-2 defeat on the road at Bowling Green State University on Friday afternoon from the Perrysburg Tennis Center.
 
The Titans dropped the doubles point to open the match and could not complete the comeback after the Falcons took four of the six singles matches.
 
Sophomore Iris Thioux gutted out a three-set win to highlight the top performers for Detroit Mercy. Thioux dropped the opening set, 6-3, before bouncing back with a 6-3 win in the second. The sophomore outlasted Ayumi Sasaki in the third set, 10-6, to pick up the singles win.
 
With the loss, the Titans fall to 3-4 on the season. The Falcons, meanwhile, level their record at 3-3.
 
Detroit Mercy will take a break before returning to action on Mar. 7 at Mercer. The Titans play three matches from Georgia, with Kennesaw State (3/8) and Georgia Gwinett (3/9) also on the schedule.
