BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (4/2/2017) -- Junior
Eric Macrow posted a season-low 219 as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team concluded play at the Hoosier Invitational on Sunday.
The event was played at the Par 71, 6,813-yard IU Golf Course as the Titans totaled an 896 (299-292-305) for 14th.
Macrow ended his best 54-hole tournament of the season by shooting a 2-over 73 on Sunday and ended tied for 32nd with a 219 (74-72-73). His final round included 12 pars and a pair of birdies.
Freshman
Zack Tenerowicz tied for 51st overall with a 224 (78-70-76), while freshman
Scott Sparks and senior
Spencer Lendzion shared 62nd recording a 229.
Detroit Mercy will be back in action from April 10-11 as the red, white and blue once again make their way to Tennessee to play in Tennessee Tech's Big Blue Intercollegiate.
Here is a recap of the action at the IU Hoosier Invitational:
- The Titans have posted a team score under 900 in their last three 54-hole events.
- Detroit Mercy was tied for sixth on the course's Par 5's with a -6, 4.80 average and was seventh with 162 pars.
- Macrow's season low was a 232 at the Crusader Collegiate back in September, while his career best is a 216 at the 2016 Jackrabbit Invitational.
- Macrow led the team and was second in the field with 40 pars
- Tenerowicz led the Titans with nine total birdies, including five in round two when he shot a season-best 1-under 70.
- Tenerowicz was also tied for eighth in the competition with a -3, 4.50 average on the par 5's.
