DETROIT (4/24/17) – The University of Detroit Mercy men's and women's tennis teams will both compete this weekend at the Horizon League Championships, held at the University of Michigan's Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor, Mich.
The three-day tournament is set to begin on Friday, Apr. 28 and by Sunday, Apr. 30, a champion will be crowned on both the men's and women's sides.
The Titan men earned the 2-seed after finishing in a tie for second during the regular season and holding the tiebreaker over Green Bay and Youngstown State. The men's team receives an opening round bye on Friday and will face the winner of No. 3 Green Bay vs. No. 6 Cleveland State on Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
The Detroit Mercy women will head into the Championships as the 4-seed and face No. 5 Oakland at 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon. The winner will move on to take on No. 1 Youngstown State on Saturday at 3 p.m.
