YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (4/8/17) – The University of Detroit Mercy women's tennis team suffered a 5-2 loss on the road at Youngstown State in Horizon League action from the Boardman Tennis Center on Saturday night.
The setback is the first loss in conference action for Detroit Mercy, with the Titans slipping to 6-9 overall and 2-1 in league play. The Penguins improve to 10-8 overall and 4-1 in Horizon League action with the win.
YSU took the doubles decision and four of six singles points to earn the win.

Anna Davydova and freshman
Pauline Van Herck each picked up wins in three sets. Davydova won the opening set on the No. 1 line, 6-4, before falling in the second, 7-5. The senior won a grueling third set, 10-8, to pick up the win.
Van Herck fell in the opening set from the sixth position, 6-4, before bouncing back to force a third set with a 6-2 win in the second. The rookie took the point with a 10-4 win in the third.
The Titans will look to get back on track on Sunday at Cleveland State.
